Politico website quoted informed American officials as saying that CIA officials warned of the future ability of Iranian-made drones to penetrate the air defenses of American forces in the Middle East and cause deaths.

The American website added that the intelligence warning came as part of an assessment of the risks facing American diplomats and forces, in particular, after the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

On January 28, the White House announced that 3 soldiers were killed and others were injured in a drone attack on American forces stationed at the “Tower 22” base in northeastern Jordan, near the border with Syria.

The website quoted an informed official that the United States took steps after Israel’s attack on Gaza last October to strengthen the defenses at the “Tower 22” base that was targeted in Jordan.

This official said that the “Tower 22” base had a security vulnerability related to the ability to repel drones, because most of the attacks were occurring in Syria and Iraq.

Since mid-October, American forces and international coalition forces in Iraq and Syria have been subjected to more than 165 attacks, a direct reflection of the war launched by Israel against the besieged Palestinian Strip.

Most of these attacks were claimed by the "Islamic Resistance in Iraq", which includes armed factions close to Iran.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war with American support on the Gaza Strip, which as of yesterday Wednesday left 27,708 martyrs and 67,147 injured, most of them children and women - according to the Palestinian authorities - and caused “massive destruction and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.” According to the United Nations.
