Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia said that the complete lack of common values between Russia and the West led to conflict. He noted that the false diplomacy of the détente era is gone.
The West "set the task was to fool" Russians, instill in them Western values and "draw them into their own world," he said. Earlier, Patriarch Kirill called for preventing the forced closure of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. He was speaking at the liturgy in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior on the feast of the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem.
