The honorary corner is located in the southwestern corner of Al-Aqsa Mosque. It dates back to the Mamluk era, as a Sufi zawiya in 1332 AD, and today it is used as part of the Islamic Museum.

The corner consisted of a mosque, 21 houses, a library, and agricultural land. With the occupation of Jerusalem in 1967, the occupation demolished a number of the houses that belonged to it. The Islamic Museum director Arafat Amr talks to Al Jazeera Net about the history of the Zawiya.
