One person died and five others were injured when a four-story parking lot in Lower Manhattan collapsed for unknown reasons. New York Fire Operations Chief John Esposito said his men found six people inside: one dead and five injured who are in "stable" condition.

The parking lot, built in 1957, stands above ground (as is usual in New York, without underground levels) and is located on Ann Street, next to the private PACE university. Around 4 p.m. local time, the four floors collapsed forunknown reasons.
