In 2023, the number and volume of blood donations in my country hit a new high. Medical staff showed their love to ensure blood supply during the Spring Festival.
There were 16.992 million voluntary blood donations throughout the year. The blood donation volume reached 28.921 million units, an increase of 5.9% and 4.8% respectively compared with 2022. For most healthy adults, donating 200 or 400 ml of blood is safe and has no impact on the body. The number of people donating blood on the streets has dropped.
