The chat at the youth shelter Fria in Eskilstuna has had a record number of visitors recently. Over 100 chats every month compared to before the pandemic, when there were around 250 chats annually.
The pandemic effect may still be one reason why the need for support does not decrease, says Sofia Liedberg. The chat is open in the evenings, Monday and Friday and on Sunday afternoons. The most chats are on Sundays and we also see an increase around holidays and holidays, then it is usually because it is tough at home.
