The state grant for social initiatives in vulnerable areas has contributed in several ways to developing municipalities' crime prevention work. In Östergötland, Linköping and Norrköping municipalities have taken part of the funds.
25 of the municipalities have stated that the money has been used to finance field workers, among other things. In total, the grant has provided 300 new field workers around the country. A total of SEK 460,300,000 was paid out to the municipalities in 2022.
