The Ministry of Ecology and Environment has determined that 2,573 water bodies will be included in the construction of beautiful rivers and lakes this year. These water bodies are mainly concentrated in rivers and Lakes with national monitoring points.
The ministry has selected 56 outstanding cases of beautiful lakes, including Shenzhen Maozhou River, Xiamen Yuandang Lake, and Zhejiang Qiandao Lake. It is estimated that by 2027, about 40% of the water bodies in the country will basically have "clear water with green banks, fish swimming on the shallow bottom, and harmonious human and water"
