Portuguese authorities found a second body which could be that of the French tourist missing with his wife since March 16 on the island of Madeira. On Thursday, the body of a woman was discovered by a foreign hiker who was hiking through a mountainous area in the municipality of Sao Vicente.

The second body found on Friday, that of a man, was found "around 10 meters lower", explained police commissioner João Gois. French justice announced last week the opening of an investigation into the worrying disappearance of a French couple from Beaumont-de-Lomagne.
