Lithuania: Defense Minister dismissed by Prime Minister who wants more efficiency. The new expected minister is the conservative Laurynas Kasciunas at the head of the defense committee in Parliament.
The resignation is not linked to a sudden change in the security situation in the country. We must prepare for the arrival of the German brigade, 5,000 soldiers by 2027, agree to finance budget increases in the defense sector in a sustainable manner. The president and the prime minister meet Monday morning.
