The Lithuanian Minister of Defense has just submitted his resignation, requested by Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte.

Lithuania
, Ingrida Simonyte.
The Minister of Defense has submitted his resignation.
Saturday morning March 16, the head of government gave some details on social networks to reassure everyone.
This resignation is not linked to a sudden change in the security situation in the country.
The Prime Minister wants more efficiency from the Minister of Defense.
So she asked him to leave.
Understanding that without political support within the coalition he would not be able to move forward, Arvydas Anusauskas accepted, not without being surprised at the way he did it.
Busy schedule
Between now and the holding of legislative elections in the fall of 2024, the defense agenda is busy.
We must prepare for the arrival of the German brigade, 5,000 soldiers by 2027, agree to finance budget increases in the defense sector in a sustainable manner, and find a new chief of staff.
The president and the prime minister meet Monday morning.
The new expected minister is the conservative Laurynas Kasciunas at the head of the defense committee in Parliament.
