Lavrov: Russia will separately consider requests from Western ambassadors for contacts. Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev expressed the opinion that EU ambassadors should be expelled from Russia for refusing to meet with Lavrov.
Medvede also called for lowering the level of diplomatic relations with EU countries. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the refusal of EU ambassadors in Moscow to met with Lavrov raises questions about what their activities are in Russia. The minister emphasized that Moscow notified the ambassadors of the European Union countries that now, if any of them show interest in communicating with the Russian authorities, Russia will “consider each such request separately”
