The Russian minister stated this in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper.

Earlier, Lavrov called the refusal of European ambassadors to invite him to a meeting with him rudeness.

The minister emphasized that Moscow notified the ambassadors of the European Union countries that now, if any of them show interest in communicating with the Russian authorities, Russia will “consider each such request separately and decide whether to agree to such contact or not.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the refusal of EU ambassadors in Moscow to meet with Lavrov raises questions about what their activities are in Russia.

Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev expressed the opinion that EU ambassadors should be expelled from Russia for refusing to meet with Lavrov.

Medvedev also called for lowering the level of diplomatic relations with EU countries.
