Russia is interested in the conflict in Ukraine ending as soon as possible, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said. Lavrov spoke with his Brazilian counterpart Mauro Vieira.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken argued that the U.S. opposes attempts to freeze hostilities in Ukraine. The two countries have been at loggerheads over Ukraine since the Ukraine conflict began in April. The U.N. Security Council has called for an end to hostilities in the region by the end of the year. The United Nations has called on Russia and Ukraine to work together to end the conflict.
