"It is clear that we are interested in ending the Ukrainian conflict as soon as possible. We have explained in detail more than once the reasons for what is happening, the goals that we are pursuing in this regard," the minister said after talks with his Brazilian counterpart Mauro Vieira. Lavrov's words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

The minister added that with his Brazilian counterpart, they talked "about the context that needs to be kept in mind" in order to solve such problems not on a momentary basis, but on the basis of long-term agreements.

Such agreements should first of all be based on the principle of multilateralism and consideration of the security interests of all states without exception, Lavrov said.

At the same time, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken argued that the United States opposes attempts to freeze hostilities in Ukraine.
