Kyiv hopes to receive an invitation to NATO at the summit in Washington. US Permanent Representative to the North Atlantic Alliance Julianne Smith said on February 13 that she does not expect Ukraine to be invited to NATO.

Earlier, the acting US Deputy Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Yuri Kim, announced that she was working on Ukraine’s early entry into the alliance. The NATO summit is scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C. in July 2024, according to the Ukrainian President's Office.
