The New Komeito Party is actively fielding candidates in Tokyo, following Saitama and Aichi. The LDP is increasingly pushing back the LDP over how to deal with the five prefectures where the number of single-member constituencies will increase from the next House of Representatives election.

The progress of the coordination of candidates by the two parties is expected to affect Prime Minister Kishida's strategy for dissolving the House of House of Representatives. The parties are holding various consultations on a negotiated basis.
