Great Britain wants to work with the USA to provide aid to the civilian population in the Gaza Strip by sea. "The people of Gaza are in desperate humanitarian need," wrote British Foreign Secretary David Cameron.

US President Joe Biden announced that the US military would build a temporary port on the Mediterranean coast of the Gaza strip to bring humanitarian aid. There are no plans to deploy US soldiers to the largely destroyed Palestinian territory, according to Biden's State of the Union address on Thursday. The U.N. World Food Program says a convoy of trucks carrying food for people in the north of the sealed-off coastal strip was turned away by Israeli soldiers.
