International trade fair held in Hong Kong, the largest export destination for Japanese pearls. More than 4,000 companies selling gems and jewelry from 44 countries and regions are exhibiting at the international trade fair.
Approximately 80 companies from Japan, including those involved in pearl production, processing, and sales, were exhibiting from Mie and Hyogo prefectures. Japan's pearl exports temporarily decreased significantly due to the effects of the new coronavirus, but last year's export value was over 45.5 billion yen.
