The number of people displaced due to the ongoing conflict in Sudan has reached 10 million and 700 thousand people since mid-April. The International Organization for Migration said that there is one Sudanese out of every 8 internally displaced people in the world.

The displaced people there suffer from an acute shortage of food, shelter, health care and sanitation, and their deteriorating conditions increase the risk of disease and malnutrition. The UN official considered the humanitarian response to the situation in Sudan insufficient so far to meet the urgent needs.
