15,150 police officers injured in 2023, more than 40 daily. An increase of 4.1% compared to the year 2022.

Nine police officers lost their lives while on duty last year. Since 2010, 124 police officers have died on duty. 51% are accidental deaths, 25% during the home-work journey, and 24% following intentional or involuntary homicide. The leading cause of injuries is assault by a third party. This intentional violence concerns all police personnel: those active on public roads, but also assistant police officers.
