In Uzbekistan, 23 defendants were sentenced in the case of the death of 68 children from syrup. In December 2022, it became known that children died after taking the drug Doc-1 Max from the Indian company Marion Biotech.
During laboratory tests, a toxic substance was found in the drug - ethylene glycol. Then a case was opened under an article on violation of the procedure for the retail sale of medicines containing potent substances. The court found all 23 defendants guilty and sentenced them to imprisonment for terms of up to 20 years.
