“The court found all 23 defendants guilty and sentenced them to imprisonment for terms of up to 20 years,” the court said.

Thus, the director of the Indian company Quramax Medical Raghvendra Prathar, an importer of syrup to Uzbekistan, was sentenced to 20 years in prison, the former head of the agency for the development of the pharmaceutical industry Sardor Kariev - to 18 years, and two of Kariev's deputies - to 16 years in prison. 

In December 2022, it became known that children died after taking the drug Doc-1 Max from the Indian company Marion Biotech.

During laboratory tests, a toxic substance was found in the drug - ethylene glycol.

Then a case was opened under an article on violation of the procedure for the retail sale of medicines containing potent substances.
