A 19-year-old resident of Tuva was convicted of infecting five people with anthrax. He was sentenced to 11 months of restricted freedom.

The man killed a horse with signs of an infectious disease, after which he sold the animal’s meat without veterinary accompanying documents. In September 2023, anthrax was confirmed in nine people hospitalized in Voronezh from the Bogucharsky district of the Voronez region. The culprit was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 236 of the Criminal Code of Russia.
