In the DPR, an Azov militant was convicted of imprisoning two people. In April 2022, Yuri Mozgovoy held two civilians at gunpoint.

One of them, deprived of the opportunity to receive qualified medical care, died. Azov is an organization recognized as terrorist by a decision of the Supreme Court of Russia dated August 2, 2022. On January 17, Alexei Mozgovoys, who shot four Mariupol residents, was sentenced to life imprisonment in the DPR.
