In Karelia, 26 years later, a 14-year-old teenager was found involved in a murder. The body of a woman was discovered in August 1997 in the forest next to a country road that leads to the village of Pyalma.
It was established that the woman died as a result of mechanical asphyxia. At that time, it was not possible to identify the person involved in the murder, so the preliminary investigation was suspended. The attacker was charged under paragraph “i’ of Part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia.
