The Syrian Network for Human Rights said that it documented at least 203 cases of arbitrary detention, including 8 children and 5 women, in March 2024 in different regions. The network indicated that Syria is among the worst countries in the world for hiding its citizens.

The report stated that the Syrian regime forces carried out extensive arrest operations, targeting civilians in the governorates of Rif Damascus, Damascus, Hama, Aleppo, and Homs. Most of them occurred within the framework of mass raids and arrest campaigns and at checkpoints.
