Hubei has completed a total of 10,742 sewage outfalls into the Yangtze River. The province continues to implement high-level protection and improvement of the river.

Before the end of 2024, the province will complete the rectification of 90% of the sewage outlets and 70% of sewage outlets of key tributaries (lakes and reservoirs) The water quality of the Hubei section of the main stream of the YangTze River has remained at Class II for five consecutive years.
