Guinea has been without a government since the evening of Monday February 19, 2024. The team of Prime Minister Bernard Goumou was dissolved by a decree from the president of the transition, Mamadi Doumbouya.

The dissolution is in any case welcomed by some Guineans, while the country is plunged into a serious social and political crisis. There are the optimists, disappointed by the action of the government in place in Guinea for two years and who wanted change. The other front for the junta is the unions which are threatening to declare a general strike. They denounce attacks on press freedom.
