[HIGHLIGHTS] Global warming: is the objective of +1.5°C set by the Paris agreement still tenable?

For the first time, the average surface temperature of the Earth over the period February 2023 to January 2024 exceeded 1.5 degrees compared to the pre-industrial era. A strong signal, as the Paris agreements set the objective of limiting global warming to +1.5°C.

So, has this goal become out of reach? Europe 1 looked into the question. The bar of the Paris agreement not yet crossed, according to a climatologist at the Research Institute for Development. But the objective will be exceeded according to projections based on the countries' commitments.
