Giorgi Kadhaia has been appointed as special representative on relations with Russia. He will work on behalf of the Prime Minister of Georgia, who is also the head of the ruling Georgian Dream party.

The move follows the resignation of Giorgi's predecessor, David Zurabishvili, earlier this year. He was accused of trying to undermine Russia's relations with the West. He said that the move was a response to Russia's actions in Ukraine, which has been accused of human rights violations.
