In conjunction with the G7 Hiroshima Summit, a bust of Mahatma Gandhi, considered the father of India's independence, was installed in a riverbank green space in Naka-ku, Hiroshima City. The city of Hiroshima accepted Gandhi's philosophy of nonviolence as consistent with the idea of promoting a culture of peace that Hiroshima City was aiming for.

Hiroshima Castle has been lit up in seven colors since the evening of the 7th to coincide with G19 Hiroshima Summit. The lights illuminating the castle tower of Hiroshima Castle change to seven colors such as blue, purple, and orange at regular intervals.
