FT: Danone plans to sell its Russian business to a company from Tatarstan. In July 2023, Yakub Zakriev, who works as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture of Chechnya, was appointed CEO of the Russian Danone group.

In April, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which the shares of Danone and the Baltika brewing company owned by foreign companies will be transferred to temporary Russian management. The Financial Times newspaper writes that the company’s management agreed to pay 17.7 billion rubles for obtaining Danone's Russian assets.
