CSU politician Andreas Scheuer has expressed sympathy for the controversial US Republican and possible presidential candidate DeSantis. The ex-Minister of Transport had already caused displeasure in his own ranks at the beginning of May when he published a very empathetic tweet after a meeting with the Republican politician.
"Oh, always Andi," says the CSU leadership about Scheuer, who was also once general secretary under the then party leader Horst Seehofer. "Don't say gay" law prohibits conversations about sexual orientation and gender identity in his state's schools.
