Former Hungarian Justice Minister Varga revoked her mandate after a pardon scandal. Varga said she takes full responsibility for signing Novak's pardon decision.

Earlier, Hungarian President Katalin Nowak announced that she was resigning. The resignation comes amid a scandal involving the pardon of a man convicted of concealing information about sexual abuse in an orphanage. Varga clarified that for the pardon document to come into force, a counter-signature from the head of the Ministry of Justice was required.
