Foreign Ministry: Russia is ready to help strengthen the security forces of Iraq. Moscow supports the efforts of the Iraqi authorities to ensure stability, security and law and order in a country friendly to Russia.
Earlier, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin confirmed that the U.S. would soon begin negotiations with Iraq on replacing the existing format of cooperation between the countries. The talks are expected to take place within the next few weeks, according to the Pentagon chief. The Russian Foreign Ministry has not commented on the reports.
