The interim report for the first three months shows a higher cost trend than planned for Region Östergötland. The result shows minus SEK 261 million and now further austerity measures are expected.

According to the region, the result is due to increased pension costs, lower targeted government grants and a negative result in health care. Reducing the cost of temporary workers is an area where new measures will be introduced, and a strategy to limit dependence on temporary work agencies has been decided by the regional board.
