Eritrean President Isaias concluded his six-day visit to China and left China by plane from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport on 19 May. China is Eritrea's largest trading partner and source of investment.
In November 2021, China and Eritrea signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Jointly Promoting the Construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 11st Century Maritime Silk Road. "I hope that while Eritrea and China will cooperate for win-win results, the relationship between Eritre and China can be raised to a higher level and expand cooperation to a broader field," Isai as said.
