Ecuador reversed the decision to supply Russian equipment to the United States. Ecuador’s position is not to supply weapons to hot spots, but to help resolve conflicts peacefully.

On January 10, Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa announced that his country would transfer Russian-made equipment in exchange for new equipment worth a total of $200 million. The Russian Embassy subsequently stated that such a decision would be an unfriendly step on the part of Ecuador. The Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation emphasized that the transfer of military equipment to a third party could negatively affect Russian-Ecuadorian relations.
