ECOWAS: the President of the Commission announces the lifting of most sanctions against Niger. Sanctions were imposed on Niamey after a military regime took power and overthrew elected President Mohamed Bazoum in July.
Borders and airspace will notably be reopened, it was clarified at the end of this extraordinary summit. Lifting of the blockade of financial and banking transactions, end of the energy blockade, return of commercial flights departing from and arriving in Niger, official invitation launched to the leaders of the juntas and transitions.
