Experts from both Japan and China held consultations in China regarding the release of treated water from the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the ocean. This is the first time that the talks have been announced publicly, and the Japanese side has explained the safety of the release based on scientific evidence.

The talks were held after the Japan-China summit meeting held in November last year, in which they agreed to find a solution to the issue through consultation and dialogue. The government will continue to hold consultations with experts and request the lifting of China's suspension of imports of Japanese marine products.
