RFI's Hausa service has just lost one of its eminent journalists. Mahamane Salissou Hamissou, of Niger nationality, died following injuries in a car accident in northern Nigeria.

He was buried on February 16 at the Tsibiri cemetery in the Maradi region, Niger. He has worked for over 30 years in the media, notably for Nigerian radio stations such as Amfani, R&M and Tambara FM. The numerous messages of condolence received in Lagos from listeners and colleagues, as well as the tributes from our partner radio stations.
