Ann Lundgren is a lawyer and criminal law expert from Umeå. She explains why the Supreme Court made its decision to free the two men.

Lundgren: "They had a bad crime plan. No weapons could be retrieved because there were no weapons." For something to count as a criminal attempt, there must be a danger that the crime will be completed, she says. "That's what this court case is about. If they committed an attempted weapons offense," says Lundgren.
