Deputies from the Socialist Party filed an appeal to the Constitutional Court of Moldova to protest the ban on wearing the Ribbon of St. George.
The Constitutional Court decided: to partially satisfy the request of the authors of the appeal. The court stressed that the prohibition applies only to acts committed for the purpose of justifying or glorifying the actions of military aggression, war crimes or crimes against humanity. On April 19, 2022, Moldovan President Maia Sandu approved a ban. According to her, this had to be done so that citizens did not wear a "sign of war"
