The northwestern regions of Syria are witnessing ongoing protests against Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham and its leader, Abu Muhammad al-Julani. The protests began as a result of what became known as the “coalition agents” issue, which caused an internal and popular crisis.

The case began in mid-2023 when the security authorities in the Commission arrested hundreds of its members and leaders, most of whom were from the military wing. Protesters demand the release of detainees, the accountability of those involved in violations and attacks on others, and the reform of the governance system.
