Clashes expanded between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support in several cities. The Rapid Support Forces previously broadcast pictures of military reinforcements in Darfur.

These developments come days after the army announced its control over large parts of the city of Omdurman, west of Khartoum. Since mid-April 2023, the army and Rapid Support have been fighting a war that has left about 13,900 people dead and more than 8 million displaced and refugees, according to the United Nations.
