Chile's former president Sebastián Piñera dies in a helicopter crash. The 74-year-old's office confirmed this on Tuesday.

The accident occurred in the holiday resort of Lago Ranco, 920 kilometers south of the capital Santiago de Chile. In addition to the politician, there are said to have been three other people in the plane. They were rescued alive by rescue workers after the accident. The conservative was Chilean president twice.
