The Russian Foreign Ministry has summoned the charge d'affaires of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia. The authorities of the Baltic republics have not responded to Moscow's requests to ensure security for the Russian president during the presidential elections.

“Creating difficulties during elections will cause serious protest among Russian citizens living in these countries, since this violates their constitutional rights,” said a Russian spokeswoman. In the event of sabotage, Russia will act decisively in a bilateral context and in international structures, the ministry emphasized.
