In Chad, opponent Yaya Dillo died yesterday from injuries he received in the attack on his party headquarters. The announcement was made on February 29 by the prosecutor at the Ndjamena high court, Oumar Kebellaye, during a press conference.

At midday, calm returned but the internet was still cut in the Chadian capital. The first round of the presidential election is planned next May 6, with the winner going to the second round in a run-up to the general election.
