Mayotte has been blocked for three weeks. At issue are roadblocks erected by groups of citizens with the sole objective of stopping the massive arrivals of illegal immigrants.
“It’s a turf war between us, the Mahorais, and the delinquents, war criminals, terrorists. We are going to fight to remain French, we are making these roadblocks for our survival,” says Saphina, a mother who was one of the first on the roadblocks.
